Pro Dive Magnetic Island: Great Barrier Reef Introductory Dive

Not certified?  Want to dive the barrier reef?  No problem! Introductory dives are for beginners and require no previous experience.  One of our friendly and experienced Instructors will take you step by step through the whole exciting experience.

Pro Dive Magnetic Island have access to some of the healthiest most pristine areas of the Great Barrier Reef including Lodestone, Keeper and Wheeler Reef.  We are able to select the best reef for the days weather conditions and visiting different sites each trip with small numbers means the reefs remain in beautiful condition!

The Introductory dive is for beginners and requires no previous experience.  It’s a great way to experience the Great Barrier Reef and try out scuba diving if you don’t have time to complete the learn to dive course.  One of our friendly and experienced Instructors will take you step by step through the whole exciting experience.

Your trip includes:

  • Introductory Dive
  • Experienced Dive Instructor
  • Snorkeling
  • Quality dive and snorkel equipment
  • Morning tea served during surface interval (with hot beveridges and soup in the winter)

Advice for Diving and Snorkeling
Snorkeling and Scuba Diving can be strenuous activities. If you are concerned about your fitness, swimming ability or have a medical conditions please inform our friendly crew.

Some medical conditions may prevent you from diving or will require a Doctor’s certificate (organised prior to your trip). You’ll be required to complete a medical statement and sign a Legal Waiver Release & Indemnity Deed prior to boarding the vessel.

The minimum age for scuba diving is 12 years old.

You will not be able to fly or ascend over 300m for 24 hours after your final dive.

Day 1 : Great Barrier Reef Introductory Dive
6:45am - check-in at Pro Dive Magnetic Island (pick-ups available on request from Magnetic Island Accommodation and Ferry Terminal) 7:30am - Boat Departs 8:45am - Arrive at Reef 9:00am - Dive/snorkel site 1 10:30am - Morning Tea is served 11:00am - Dive/snorkel site 2 12:30pm - Depart Reef 2:00pm - Arrive back at Magnetic Island Marina

Check-in @ Pro Dive 6:45am
(pick-ups from ferry terminal available on request)
Departs: 7:30am
Returns: 2:00pm*

Extras:

  • EMC, Levy, Port & Administration Charge - $15.00 per person*

*EMC (Environmental Management Charge) is a compulsary fee paid by operators to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority for the management of the Marine Park including education, research, ranger patrols and policy development. The funds received from the EMC are vitally important in the day-to-day management of the Marine Park and in improving its long-term resilience.

  • Logbook - $10 (to record your experience)
